Day 16 intentionally...peace

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.~Psalm 4:8

day 15 intentionally

It's hard to believe how quickly time really does fly by.  This picture was taken a year and a half ago. I love the contrast of the graffiti on the cinderblock wall with his sweet little face.  Our sweet boy will be four at the end of next month...he was just two here.  He has grown so much in this time; physically, emotionally, and intellectually.  Oh and is he a character!  We say he is a cartoon character.  The things he comes up with are hilarious and sometimes mind boggling.  So why am I writing about this...well, it is the intentional theme that I've been s  l  o  w  l  y blogging about.  This winter we've been blessed to spend some time in a warmer climate, close to my family and God has used it to teach and refine me and heal some heart issues.  This is still so fresh and new in the process.  But what He is doing reflects so much on my calling as a wife and mother.  This sweet little face touches my heart, shows me my weaknesses, tests my patience, makes me laugh and reminds me...slow down, take the time...
because time flies by...I'm only little once.

Isn't our God gracious in His love for us, continually extending grace and mercies we don't deserve.
I've said it so many times before on here, but I am truly humbled by the gift God has entrusted into my care of being wife to a precious man and mom to five soon-to-be young men.  How quickly I've realized I am so ill-equipped to manage this calling.  Knowing this though is a gift.  Laying my own pride and minute strength at His feet allows HIS strength, patience, wisdom, and love.

To God be the glory always!

The Resurrection of Christ ] Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1, 3-4 ESV
